How confident are you that you could create an ENTIRE lowercase and uppercase alphabet, based on just this tiny sample?

Believe it or not, this is an actual request I got from a well-known corporate client of mine. In fact, "Can you match this font?" is a pretty common customer request.

Good thing I figured out how to do it. And great thing (for you Reader!) that I know how to TEACH it. 😉

👇Let's start with this kinda counterintuitive idea:

Creating an Alphabet isn't really about the letters...

... it's about the 1️⃣ STYLE VARIABLES (remember those from Week 1?) and the 2️⃣ BASIC SHAPES that make up those letters.

The first thing I did when I got that client sample above is make a note of:

1. The overall slant, spacing, shapes, heights, & proportions, and
2. All the basic shapes (lowercase and uppercase) that I could find

From there, I was able to construct the rest of the missing letters using a SYSTEM instead of just blindly guessing.

See?

That lowercase "h" alone allowed me to come up with a surprising number of other letters.
